Twitter Admits Policy 'Errors'

Despite the social network's promise to fight abuse, researchers and activists said Friday that far-right supporters have used the new policy to harass and suppress their opponents.

After the new privacy policy was implemented at Twitter, it was revealed that anyone who had a Twitter account should now report doxxing posts from the accounts that they follow.

Gwen Snyder, an organizer in Philadelphia, said she was temporarily blocked from Twitter after reporting a series of photos she claimed showed a local political candidate during a march organized by the Proud Boys.

Twitter's move to exclude certain content is "dangerous" and will enable fascism, she said.

But the rules don't apply to public figures or individuals when their content is in the public interest or adds value to public discourse.

At Least 9 US State Officials Said iPhone’s were hacked by NSO Group Spyware

The hackers exploited the NSO Group's spyware to infiltrate the devices of several US officials, who were based in Uganda.

Although it was not clear who launched the attacks, Reuters could not determine who they were launched by.

If it is proven that the tools used by NSO were used to illegally gather information, the company will terminate the customer's rights and legal actions will be taken against them.

NSO, which is based in Uganda, has long said that it only sells products to government agencies and intelligence clients, and that it is not involved in surveillance operations.

The State Department declined to discuss the details of the intrusions, but noted that the Commerce Department's decision to place NSO Group on an entity list makes it harder for American firms to do business with them.

The NSO software can secretly collect sensitive information from infected iPhones. It can also turn the devices into recording devices.

Apple Inc has identified about 100 victims of a security issue that affected almost half a million people globally, people briefed on the matter said. The victims included US government employees.

This issue, which was discovered in February, allowed some NSO customers to remotely control iPhones by sending out undetectable requests to the devices. The victims did not have to enter any details to enable the exploitation.

Versions of the NSO surveillance software, which are known as Pegasus, could be installed remotely.

In response to the Uganda case, the company NSO defended its technology and said it helped prevent terrorist activities. However, it noted that its intrusion system can't work on iPhones with foreign numbers.

Uganda has been roiled by an election that was marked by reports of irregularities. As a result, the government has launched a campaign to suppress opposition supporters.

The US government is cracking down on companies that sell surveillance software such as the NSO Group, which is based in Israel. The official said the company's products had been abused in other countries.

Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon said that companies that sell tools to enable government employees to be hacked should be classified as a threat to national security.

The Israeli government has to approve the export of technology from the NSO Group, which specializes in monitoring electronic devices.

Cyber products are only allowed to be exported to countries where they are used for counter-terrorism and severe crimes, an embassy spokesperson said on Monday.

Since the launch of the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro smartphones, many users have experienced various issues. The complaints have been reported on various forums and Reddit.

According to the users, their phone service drops at random intervals. They also said that they did not experience this issue with their older phones. According to Android Police, the issue could be related to the Android S12 or the Samsung Exynos 5123b modem.

Some users said they were able to resolve the issue by rebooting their phones. Others said they got a new SIM card and some even tried to install a pending update.

Some users said that disabling the feature might help them solve the issue. This feature, which is supposed to save battery life, automatically switches between 4G and 5G when connected to a slower network.
